The Czech Republic, located in Central Europe and Southeast of Germany, is among the most developed industrialized economies and one of the most firm and thriving of the post Communist states. It became a member of NATO in 1999 and the European Union in 2004. The chief industries of Czech Republic are heavy and general machine-building, metalworking, chemical production, electronics, iron and steel production, transportation equipment, textiles, glass, brewing, china, ceramics, and pharmaceuticals. The main agricultural products of Czech Republic include sugar beets, wheat, fodder roots, potatoes and hops. |
